Term 2 Week 9
Monday
Spelling News
Spelling to be learned are highlighted. To help your child learn these words, we suggest you use the “Look, Say, Trace, Cover, Write, Check” spelling method.This is a method the students have used previously at school during literacy lessons and is the method suggested in the student’s spelling textbook. Spelling words will be tested each Friday.
Look – Look at the word
Say – Say the word out loud
Trace – Trace the word with your finger
Cover – Cover the word so that you cannot see it
Write – Write the word trying to remember what it looked like and how it sounded
Check – Check to see if it is correct. Write the word correctly if you made any mistakes.
If you have any questions regarding spelling homework please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Homework for this week will consist of Home Reading and Spelling due to all the assessment tasks the children will be involved in this week and the Sports Day next week. Daily home reading and practising of sight words will continue till Friday of this week.

All home readers will need to be returned to school this Friday for returning to Library so new ones may be borrowed for Term 3.

New homework for this week will be uploaded onto our class blog. Completed homework needs to be returned on Friday for marking.
